GENOCIDE: the New Order of Imperialism

In Meditation, there is a metamorphosis: the ugly caterpillar turning into a beautiful butterfly.

In GENOCIDE: The New Order of Imperialism, the reader goes through the same experience as the poet-artist, Dom Martin, presents a powerful, metamorphical view of humanity through his 64 politically-challenging poems. Examining the tyranny of man against man, the verses and striking illustrations evoke a wide gamut of emotions and experiences as the poet awakens the reader to the present day realities and challenges us to "re-examine our oft-neglected attitudes and biases that we may more honestly reshape our expectations.”

REVIEW by Rita Corriel (rcorriel@verizon.net)

"GENOCIDE: The New Order of Imperialism" is Dom Martin's most recent indictment of "man's inhumanity to man".

His heartbreaking sincerity and sublime sensibilities are translated into poetry and imagery in this latest work. A hauntingly profound dimension is created between these covers. This book is not for the faint of heart nor for those not up to a challenge. Trite religious cliche's and banality do not work in this author's world.

The deeper implications of the souless direction our world is taking pains him deeply. And he must express it.

The human condition is harsh. And Dom's expression of the most recent version of this reality is powerfully bold yet penetratingly subtle. He sees where our world is headed - the title itself reveals the latest spin on the ball.

Only a man such as Dom -- who obviously holds the highest ideals -- can be so profoundly despairing when we fall short of the spirit that shines within us. His sense of irony is evidence of someone who grapples with the largest questions and knows that the answers need to come from within. Many teachers have come and much has been revealed to us throughout the ages. So what is our excuse? How do we live with ourselves?

The author is compelled to juxtapose what could be with what is. Truth emmanates from his work as you enter the psyche of a very original and deeply insightful human being - one who cares. Someone who expects humanity to live up to its potential is always pained by its corruption. Such is the lot of all who are gifted with a prophetic bent.

I am truly honored to have been quoted in this book. And I am supremely grateful because Dom Martin, after discovering my article on-line, "When Do We Stop Sitting Shiva For The Holocaust?", was inspired to create an original work of art; one that is symbolically rich and poignantly reflective of my piece. It resonates like the echo of eternity.
